Meet Ruby
With a background in Social Work and a lifetime love of numbers, Ruby stumbled into the land of mortgage in 2002. Starting out as a processor, she quickly learned the ropes of mortgage brokering and by 2003, began originating mortgages. Unimpressed with the lender options she saw, in 2006 she decided to start Salmon Bay Community Lending – a small local brokerage that offered grounded advice in a comfortable setting, creating an oasis amongst the chaos of the subprime market. Both Salmon Bay and the Grynberg family continued to grow and in 2007, with the birth of her 3rd son, Salmon Bay moved into a larger space and boasted onsite childcare for both her employees and clients. Since then, Ruby has continued to grow deep roots in the Seattle real estate market, helping shape the industry through video and in person education as well as on the legislative level.
With affordability being the primary obstacle to home ownership today, she has doubled down on helping people see how to join forces with family and friends to embark on co-housing adventures. Ruby works to bring together builders, legislators, lenders and community organizers to craft the solutions we need today.
Now with over 20 years in the industry, still loves solving each person’s unique housing puzzle. Outside of mortgage, you can find Ruby being silly with her family (including 4 boys and 2 stepdaughters), playing her fiddle or dancing up a storm.
